I'm Gordon Rennie. I set up Eyonzy in 2018, after the birth of our first child, Rey. Two years in, after our second, Leo, arrived, my wife Suzy joined the business. Max, our youngest, came along after that.
If you've wondered about the name, it's a family one: the last two letters of Rey, Gordon and Suzy. Ey, on, zy.
From the start we've aimed to do one thing well: find the people who run ships and deliver subsea projects, and support them as their careers progress. On the maritime side that means superintendents, fleet and vessel managers, HSEQ, newbuild and dry dock project managers, commercial teams and directors for ship managers and owners. On the subsea side it means project and operations managers, cable, pipeline and installation engineers and offshore construction leads for subsea and offshore contractors, around the world.
We're based in Scotland and work globally as a small, efficient remote team, with clients from ferry operators and cruise lines to LNG owners, ship managers and offshore contractors. Because maritime and subsea roles are all we do, we spend every day talking to the people who fill them, and we can tell a good fit from a good CV.
I also host the Port to Port podcast, now 14+ episodes in and listened to in 89 countries, where people who've built careers in the industry talk about how they got there and what they look for in the people they hire.
How we work
- A proper briefing call before anything else.
- A shortlist of three to five people, usually within a week.
- Straight answers on salary, location and spec, even when they're not what you want to hear.
- Candidates' CVs never go anywhere without their say-so.
